The penguins are on the march, the wheelchair rugby players are rolling, and the kids are fox-trotting their way toward possible Academy Awards. Yes, the Academy has released the list of the 15 documentaries in the Oscar eligibility pool. Many audience favorites made it (like March of the Penguins, Murderball, and Mad Hot Ballroom). I’m just happy to see that the documentary category offers a real race, as it has for the past couple of years, among contenders that ordinary moviegoers have actually seen and care about. Still, I know you want to talk snubs — like, where are Grizzly Man, The Aristocrats, and The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill? Discuss.
