What better way to wash away the endless rain (which has only momentarily let up here in New York) than with the jazzy instrumental musings of The Drift. They are a super-group of sorts, made up of members of post-rock mainstays Tarenteland Halifax Pier (think Sigur Rós). The Drift’s full-time trumpeter, Jeff Jacobs, adds a mysterious depth to their work; add nervous guitars and a plucked bass and it’s like the soundtrack for a sexy noir thriller. Check out ”Invisible Cities”off their debut album Noumena.
