Will there be an 'Austin Powers 4'?

Categories: Film

145438__ap_lIf you delighted in last week’s announcement that Mike Myers will end his big-screen hiatus in a Keith Moon biopic, then you’ll think the news Michelle Kung breaks in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly (out today) is groovy, baby!

Indeed, the funnyman lets slip to Kung that he is in talks for a fourth Austin Powers flick. ”There is hope! We’re all circling and talking to each other. I miss doing the characters,” Myers says.

Of course, that raises the questions: Do you miss Austin, Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard & Co.? Or did you reach your limit with Goldmember? Weigh in; I want to see a whole lotta responses!

I’d rather stick my dick in a blender than sit through another installment of the Austin Powers series.

  • Devin

I say bring another one on, baby!

  • EP Sato

I thought the second Austin Powers was much better than the first, but the third one was a real disapointment. It’s as if the well ran totally dry. If they do a fourth one, it had better be knee slappin’, fat bastard sleeping with a hot blonde funny.

  • mov

horrible idea…it has to be HI-LARIOUS in order to even invest money it.
the first was the best because myers and hurley had a real chemistry…2nd was still pretty funny…3rd was so bad i didn’t finish it.

  • ryan

what the hell..bring on the fourth installment. The first and second being the best, the third being a total disappointment, I would be willing to slap down $10 bucks to see the 4th. However, I would be more intrigued if the 4th was a “R” rating.

  • Jeff Commings

I reached the limit when Austin drank the beaker of poo in “The Spy Who Shagged Me.”

  • eric

I’m game for a fourth as long as the skin-snacking Goldmember and Fat Bastard aren’t around. More Scott and Dr. Evil…yes please!

  • Sara

I would be interested to see these movies go back to more of an intellectual humor and less gross-out humor. Eating skin?? I don’t even understand how that’s supposed to be funny but some of the stuff in those movies made me laugh so hard my sides hurt. More smart jokes, please!

The third was a disappointment. It also ended the Austin Powers “trilogy”. I think there shouldn’t be another one. All good things have to come to an end, even if the ending sucks.

  • Leo Nignalad

    NO MORE…. yeah baby!

  • Alyssa

Oh my Gosh! I hope there is a 4th one. I’am a big fan of all the Austin Powers movies! Yeah baby!

  • Shana

I’d love to see how they have Scott as the main Evil character and Dr. Evil trying to be a good brother and son to Austin and his dad. I also just adore Seth Green, even in a bald cap.

  • Ray Bay

God save us from any more Austin Powers… who brought us new depths to our shame, and talent void. Americans are probably stoopid enough to pay for tickets to a fourth Austin Powers… unless we can somehow have Mike Myers thrown out of the country… Iraq would be a good spot for him and is talentless ontourage.

  • Lawrence

See, I’ve heard repeatedly that the 3rd installment sucked and I whole-heartedly disagree. That movie: Goldmember, is actually the best one. The comedy is more subtle, after the big intro that is, but actually is 10x as funny as the previous entries. There are story arcs and jokes so hilarious that I would totally enjoy another Austin Powers’ film. And more SETH GREEN, too!

  • donner

The first one was the best…the other two are tired rehashes…the idea of a fourth does not excite me at all…if there’s one thing Mike is good at- its overindulgence…so I expect the fourth to be the worst of the lot…and I LOVE the first movie, so it pains me to say that…

  • Beyonce

I would like to see a another installment of Austin powers as long as the leading lady is not black.

  • Marcus

Sure, as long as it does not become nothing but minor variations of the previous one’s jokes. The third was basically the same movie as the first two except less clever and more vulgar. New jokes, funny ones at that, will bring in the audiences

  • Cody

    Devin,
that would be required to have dick. if im not mistaken your a big fat pussy, and sit at home with mommy at the age of 42.

  • Ginger

Please no more. How much longer can it be funny for a guy to be stuck in the 70’s? And now Scott is evil? He’s not funny evil. The 3rd movie blew monkey balls.

  • karmasweet

goldmember was THE GAYEST COMEDY EVER MADE. way too many gay undertones.. Caine shoulda been dr evil’s brother, not his father. the whole thing shoulda took place in Japan and the female shouldve been Margaret Cho, a real comedienne. wouldve been a great spoof of japanese culture/movies. there is an SNL skit where myers is a japanese game show host. imagine THAT character as a villain instead of goldmember. he’d be the man who sent spies Fook MI and Fook Yu.. i liked austin, but myers developed a Texas-sized hubris, ate himself into an elton john clone of SHATNERESQUE proportions and killed the sleek ferret, the wild mongoose of POWERS-1 and the shagged me trailers. THAT WAS POWERS. a thin, fast-moving shaking cat.
however the myers/kanye west/redcross telethon thing was a great moment signaling his comeback. i forgive myers for goldmember and would like a 4th, it should be named “The World is Mine!”– dr evil’s line from his “jerry springer” rant. this movie should be a total spoof of “On her Majesty’s Secret Service” where Seth Green runs “Operation wang chung” from a snowcapped lair atop an aspen ski resort, the same ski lodge in “ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE” parodying both that movie and 80s’ski lodge/hottub flicks like “ski Patrol” “hot dog!” and “out cold,” with HIS elite court of 80s icons as lethal henchmen, wang chung, simon lebon, sex pistols’Johnny Rotten, alan parsons, david lee roth..JANE CHILD…MR T…unless Dr Evil misses being evil and wants to be evil again, but scott is doing the sh–!!sh!!–to him now. and if maybe Vh1’s Adrianne Curry is playing a clone of LIZ HURLEY’s Vanessa designed to trap austin….. Unless Dr Evil goes on Blind date or the 5th wheel… Unless Pierce Brosnan appears, spoofing both himself, unless Michael York forces Austin to work with THE MONKEES… Unless THE FEMALE SIDEKICK is PLAYED BY …who is the funniest woman alive today? sorry folks its jenny mccarthy.

  • cathie

Bring it on! The 3rd was the funniest! Think about Austin standing on Mini Me’s shoulders lol! Goldmember was a riot and OMG Fat Bastard and his “brand”, it’s like spending an evening with my brother lol. Mike Myers is awesome, even if he was born up in “eh, land”. But, then again so was Hayden Christenson so not all Canadiens scare me *joke*

  • Jenna

Go for it! Luvin those movies :-)

  • Tom Tucker

The first was wet-yo-pants-fantastic (Who throws a shoe…..honestly!), the second was ten times better with Mini-me and Fat Bastard…(You’re a tiger, you’re Tony the tiger, You’re grrrrrrrreat!) and the third although not as good as the second cos of the missing characters like Mustafa and Mr Bigglesworth and Felicity but was still better than the first…(Corn! I didnae have any corn!)
I just hope that they manage to wiggle outta the whole Scott being evil thing, they could say that Austin’s Dads speech about being Dr Evil’s Dad was his way of escaping the being killed (like he said he had a plan when him and Austin had the bust up) and then once Dr Evil is Evil again, Scott can be forced out of the Evil throne sort of thing…..no? Well I don’t care if you don’t agree to be honest, I’m right…..
    …No you FACE is stuborn!

  • Jennifer

OMG! They were sooooooooooo fantastic! I really hope there will be a 4th! The 3rd was the funniest but I loved the 1st two So much also! Make a 4th coz I am dying to see more of the Evil Scott Evil!!!!!

  • Tim

Hey Dan, If you’d rather stick your dick in a blender than sit through a FOURTH AP movie than why did you sit through the first three? and WHY are you hear reading about them?…..mommy didn’t breast feed you enough???….feeling lonely?

  • Shawn

YES!!!!! The Austin Powers franchise is the funniest thing out currently comedy-wise. I would LOVE to see another.

  • Person

There is no debate – we DEFINATELY need a regular top up of Austin Powers’ movies. Bring them on every few years i say!

  • Amanda Josef

OMG I loved all the AP movies sooo much all the characters so much ther movies are HILARIOUS bring on the 4th ♥♥♥

  • Jonathan

I think it could be a great film if it featured “Alotta Fachina”!

  • Dhruv
