Editor1 [2:53 P.M.]: So I was watching the trailer for Domino last night, and it hit me: Keira Knightley (left) is the new Winona Ryder (right)! They could be sisters, with those big expressive eyes and all.
Editor2 [2:54 P.M.]: The Winona of Heathers and Edward Scissorhands, you mean?
Editor1 [2:55 P.M.]: Yes, not the one of — um — what has she done lately?
Editor2 [2:55 P.M.]: I think it’s the jawline. But — you know what? — I’ve always thought Keira looked more like Natalie Portman (center). The eyes, the jaw, the lips too!
Editor1 [2:55 P.M.]: Hmm… I never thought of Natalie. But you’re totally right. Clearly, not all three can continue on the big screen. One must be relegated to a bad NBC pilot for next fall. Or become a Boston Legal guest star or something.
Editor2 [2:57 P.M.]: I say Winona. She’s too frail to play an action heroine. Send her to the small screen!
Editor1 [2:57 P.M.]: Totally!
Editor2 [2:58 P.M.]: Plus, both Natalie and Keira have played opposite Clive Owen, which makes them that much cooler.

Yeah I’m not a Star Wars fan either but I knew about Keira’s role on Episode 1. The Keira-Natalie thing has been going on since the late 90’s.
Kiera Knightley has trouble playing an action heroinne almost as much as Wynona would. Natalie Portman won her action star chops with Leon the Professional, enough to overlook her lackluster performance in Star Wars.
Kiera’s new movie Domino was enjoyable, but not in any way because of her. The tough guy chick role is hard to pull off, and she was a little too unbelievable. Sorry but she’s just not very good in an action role.
As for look alikes, you forgot Anna Paquin, who looks like all three of the women you mentioned, and who has also played in roles pretty similar to all three as well.
How’s that for one upmanship, Slezak?
i think it was Elle or Vogue that covered Knightley around Pirates of the Caribbean and she was the spitting image of Ryder. Poor thing, she really has done nothing and i used to love her.
I say the 3 of them should be in some great movie about 3 weepy sisters who laugh, live and love.
Hey, guys, wise up here – I, too, am definitely not a Star Wars fan and even I knew that Keira was cast specifically to play Natalie’s “look alike” for Queen Ama-whatever.
And in that sisters movie, the three of them can dance around in a kitchen, throwing flour on each other, while listening to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
To me KK looks like Natalie Portman. The first time I saw her was some tv movie about Robin Hood’s daughter (“Princess of Thieves”, thank you IMDB!). Anyway, I remember thinking, wow that girl is absolutely beautiful and she looks exactly like Natalie Portman! Crazy! Of course now that she’s done much more stuff that I’ve seen, I can definitely tell them apart, but the likeness is undeniable!
Can’t say that I ever made the Wynona Ryder connection though…
Kiera is just cool, unpretentious and best suited for superstardom in the big movie roles. Natalie is brainy, earnest and best suited for art house films. Wynona needs to up her medication.
Yes, they do all look alike at first glance, as does much of Hollywood if we’re being honest. As Sheakespeare has it, “There’s nothing new under the sun.”
all 3 of them look very much alike. keira knightley and natalie portman look the most like eachother. the only real big difference is that natalie portman’s face is just alittle bit more round. i think winona ryder looked the most like keira and natalie, when she was younger and she was in that movie mermaids. when i first saw that movie, i thought she was keira knightley.

As for the Kiera/Natalie thing, I think her role in The Phantom Menace–as the queen’s decoy–says it all. Sometimes you think you’re getting the real thing, but it’s just Kiera. And as for the lips? Well, they didn’t used to be there.
KK and Natalie all the way. Not only are these two women unbelievably beautiful, they are also the best actresses of their generation. They are smart with their roles, mixing in edgy fare with blockbusters. I would love to see them in the same movie again, maybe playing long lost sisters, but that may just be a little too weird.
Winonna is a terrible actress who managed to be in a few decent movies with great co-stars. She is probably planning her next Beverly Hills robbery as we speak. She is not even close to the level of KK and Natalie, and would have her own True Hollywood Story by now if any cared at all–which they don’t!
Kyra Sedgwick + Monica Potter = Julia Roberts
Kiera is this generation’s Kyra…as in Sedgewick. She was also Julia Robert’s doppelganger years ago. Kiera’s getting Portman’s leftovers, but to her credit she is landing plum roles because she can actually act, as can Sedgewick (who I believe is a better actress than Julia Roberts, but that’s another story). But if we were relegating someone to TV, by bets would be on Knightley. And give Winona some credit: At least she cases good department stores.

What’s with the hate for Winona Ryder? Sure, I know she hasn’t really done anything worthwile since Girl, Interrupted and she certainly can never outdo Heathers, Beetlejuice, and Edward Scissorhands, but she’s still wonderful. In honesty, I prefer her over Keira and Natalie. I can see the resemblance between the three, I’m just waiting for all of them to find their respective niches.
Winona Ryder…yuck! Yay for Keira and Natalie, though. They certainly didn’t do anything to deserve being compared to Winona.
Keira is the new Audrey Hepburn. Look at her famous adorable sexy pout. I want to kiss her in the rain scene in Pride and Prejudice!
I have loved Winona for years and although I think the other two actresses are starting to develop a nice body of work – don’t disregard Winnona so easily – she IS a talented actress. We will definitely be seing more form her soon.

There are some celebrities we can’t get enough of because of the aura of fame and glamour that surrounds them. This is not the case with Winona Ryder. She’s somewhat eccentric and has a way of blending sexiness and innocence that simply makes her special.
Winona:That’s acting by all means.
Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley are both young actresses that might have some potential but they’re not accomplished actresses. Winona on the other hand has been in many a good film including a few classics. I guess some people can’t tell the difference between salmon eggs (nice) and caviar (a must).
As to the nasty comments about Miss Ryder’s misfortunes, I wish the imbeciles had just a quarter of the physical and mental pains she had and then were thrown to the modern dogs of maffiosi prosecution and ratty media to understand the fun.
To the poster who wrote that they should make an E! True Hollywood Story about Winona, even if no one cared… Check your facts: They already did one, it aired in 2003.
