Ashton and Demi: Are we being Punk'd?

Categories: Celebrity Weddings

91025__demi_l_1What if Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore’s wedding on Saturday, which PopWatch and everybody else reported on, was an elaborate hoax on the media, something for the next season premiere of Punk’d? That’s the assertion made by John B. Myers, in an e-mail he sent to us and to several other media outlets. He claims to have proof, appending what he says is an e-mail from Punk’d producer Jason Goldberg to a group of people (including Myers, Moore’s publicist, and various Kutcher associates) with details of the alleged hoax plans. You can read the text of the e-mail Myers sent to the media, including what he says is the e-mail he received from Goldberg, at Jossip.

Of course, Myers could also be trying to punk the media. He is, after all, the registered owner of ashtonhacked.com, a website purporting to contain voicemail messages hacked from Kutcher’s phone. But Kutcher’s publicist has said the voice messages are fake. Meanwhile, Myers is claiming that he isn’t affiliated with the site; he told the New York Daily News yesterday that hackers registered it in his name without his knowledge. Even if Myers isn’t affiliated with ashtonhacked, it’s hard to understand why Goldberg would have e-mailed him about the alleged wedding hoax. If Myers has some other connection to Kutcher or Moore, it isn’t apparent. PopWatch responded to his e-mail, asking for more info — though we sure aren’t going to pay for it. He has yet to respond.

For what its worth, PopWatch’s inside sources tell us that they believe the wedding was genuine. MTV told PopWatch that there is an upcoming season of Punk’d, but there’s no date yet set for the premiere. That makes Myers’ story even more dubious; how could the pranksters hope to keep the wedding fakery a secret for an indefinite period of time until a premiere that could be months away?

What do you think, readers? Who’s trying to punk us: Kutcher and Moore? Myers? None of the above?

I still am shocked them two got together. GI Jane left the guy from Die Hard to date Gumby? That’s so odd. Not Drew Barrimore dating Tom Green odd, but still odd.
Oh right, the wedding…Even if it wasn’t fake, does anyone really expect the marriage to last? Sorry to come off so mean spirited about it, but when the press does the cover shot of them separated and the word “split” is under it, who will be punking who?

Who cares. It’s bad enough Demi Moore has been 42 for the past 2 yrs, (she’s actually more like 46).Remember PI Jackie Templeton on General Hospital, That was 1981 circa. Clock is ticking if she wants a baby

I think it’s great they got married, even if it isn’t real. As long as they are happy together. I’ve been in a committed relationship for the past 6 years with a man 12 years my senior. The age difference doesn’t amke any difference except it adds to our relationship. We are still happy as can be and look forward to the day when we too can marry. Until then, we look forward to growing old together.

12 years your senior?!! Who says that? Thanks for the info Aunt Mildred! Congrats on the realtionship, really, but come on! No one says that anymore!
I think it’s great if we’ve been punk’d. Maybe then we’ll stop drooling over celeb gossip. In the words of Peter Cetera… it’s a HARD HABIT TO BREAK!!

I’m with mp on this one. Who cares.

Enough with the Punk’d stuff already. The show peaked when they made Justin Timberlake cry by repo’ing his stuff. And Simon’s car getting destroyed was just plain good carma [sic]. But I can’t see Demi allowing their wedding to become a Punk’d.

I THINK IT IS A PUNK’ED SINCE NONE OF
    KUSHNER’S FAMILY WAS THERE

Oh for God sakes, MP, she already has three kids, what kind of backward thinking is that she only is entering this marriage in order to have kids!? Do grow up!

If old men can marry younger women, well whats the difference in women doing the same. After all women live longer than men, and they say if you want to keep a husband for as long as you live, marry a man at least 10 years younger!
