'Head Cases,' we hardly knew ye

Tagged:

91340__hc_lHead Cases is the fall TV season’s first casualty, with Fox pulling the plug after the audience dropped by 50 percent (to 3.1 million) for the second episode on Wednesday. Gee, who’d've thunk a show about crazy lawyers would flop? I mean, Ally McBeal was huge! Oh well, at least Chris O’Donnell (near left) can go back to whatever it was he’s been doing since Batman & Robin.

Did any of you watch Head Cases? Will any of you miss it?

The sound of silence and crickets slowly builds up through the audience…
    When was this show on?

i wouldve watched it. i even remember hearing a promo for the show on the radio. chris o’donnell is a nice piece of eye candy and adam goldberg is hilarious. he was definitely my fave in dazed and confused, “dominant male monkey m*****f*****!” when was this show on. marketing people. this show needed better marketing!

I watched it, and it was better than the crap that’s on primetime most nights. But I’ll agree the marketing was lousy – I stumbled upon it for the premiere, and in all likelihood it would have gotten my personal axe when Veronica Mars returned next week. O’Donnell was wooden, but Goldberg’s got the talent and presence to be a good TV actor given the right vehicle (such as ABC’s axed-too-soon Relativity from about a decade ago). No tears will be shed, but this is a show that could have succeeded in the right circumstances.

It was marginally amusing. Made me giggle a couple times. But I think that at the end of the first episode, when the “wizard” (in full regalia) showed up and said something about wanting to sue / divorce his wife because she was mean and didn’t understand him or something… That was indicative. The appeal of this show would’ve been stronger if they’d had more realistic clients. We’re all weird in some way, exploit that. There are precious few “wizards” out there to identify with their clients, though.

adam goldberg has got to be the most annoying actor on the planet. he makes my skin crawl.

  • JrsyGrl

I never even heard of it.

I like Chris O’Donnell, and I love Boston Legal and Ally McBeal. The problem is Adam Goldberg. He’s creepy and annoying, and I wouldn’t watch him in anything.

    hear hear, lil sweetie!
adam goldberg is awful. everytime i see him i puke in my mouth just a little bit.

already cancelled. man I didn’t even catch an episode. Too bad for chris who was in the midst of a comeback.

I actually saw the entire 1st episode and part of the 2nd (stumbled upon it as well). It had promise in Chris O’Donnell and the male paralegal character was great (I forget his name but alway love him, great on Spin City among other shows and films). The addition of his old paralegal/secretary this week promised some Schultz/new girl showdowns for the future. I do agree though that Goldberg’s character was annoying and they don’t do the actor any favors with that pellet shaped hairdo.

Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. Saw both episodes, thought the second was better than the first. Would have stuck with it a while longer. Ah well, another hour to do something else with.

I saw the first episode and thought it was pretty good, but at 9pm on Wed. in NEED to watch Lost. Sorry Chris.

  • Rick

I liked this show. I have to watch Lost at 9pm but taped this to watch over the weekend.

  • dahlia

I loved the show. Thought it was hilarious. Unfortunately, it’s on opposite of Lost. What did they expect? Schedule it for Friday or Saturday, days when the over-25 set are home and there is nothing whatsoever on.

  • Jennifer

It’s a bummer. I liked that show. I guess now there will be more room for “Cops” and other crap like that.
