Deals: Jim Carrey's number is up

Jim Carrey is reteaming with Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher for a drama called The Number 23. No, it’s not a Michael Jordan biopic; it’s about a man obsessed with a book that seems to predict his own murder, a book that has the number 23 running through its plot. Hmm, riddle me this, Riddler: where else have we seen Jim Carrey play a guy who comes to realize that someone has been chronicling his life, someone who may not have his best interests at heart?

The Truman Show!! One of the best movies Jim Carrey has ever made.

“23” is a Lost number. Hmmmm… Maybe Jim lands on a mysterious island after playing the lottery? Nah – it’s been done.

The history of the significance of 23 goes back a lot longer than Lost. It started (as far as I know) with Greg Hill, Kerry Thornley, William S. Burroughs, and Robert Anton Wilson.

I’ve heard there is significance to the number 23… can you fill me in?

“The Majestic” one of the worst films Jim Carrey has ever made. Jim is too jaded to pull off the Jimmy Stewart routine. One too many trips to the Playboy mansion, methinks.

Jen, the best I can do is tell you to track down Robert Anton Wilson’s Cosmic Trigger Book 1. The explanation is far too elaborate for me to do it justice.
