No 'Bones' about it, Fox's publicity is bloody different

10142__fox_lI’ll say this for the folks in Fox’s publicity department: They’re willing to do some extra work to get a journalist’s attention. Check out the packaging they used to ship preview copies of their Tuesday-night lineup — the hit medical drama House and the new crime procedural Bones: an IV bag filled with fake blood and a House DVD, an evidence bag containing the Bones pilot, a pile of plastic bones, and a bone-shaped pen. Strange indeed, but kind of effective. Just don’t tell ‘em I’d probably have watched both shows even if they came in plain brown packaging.

    All of this promotional stuff is neat, but where, oh, where is the EW cover story on Hugh Laurie? His is truly the breakout story of 2005 TV!
