Pop quiz: What do Kelsey Grammer, Vinnie Jones, Ben Foster, Ellen Page, Olivia Williams, Bill Duke, and Michael Murphy, and Shohreh Aghdashloo (left) have in common?
They’re all recent additions to the cast of X-Men 3. Grammer, of course, is playing Beast, Jones is Juggernaut, Foster is Angel, and Page is Kitty Pryce. Williams (The Sixth Sense) is Dr. Moira McTaggert, an old flame of Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Duke (Predator) is a politician, and Robert Altman regular Murphy is Angel’s father.
Aghdashloo, who joins fellow Oscar darlings Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, and Anna Paquin among the mutants, describes her character to EW, telling Michelle Kung: ”I’m playing Dr. Cecilia Reyes (inset), and she has this power to create a six-inch force field around herself and ward off any attack.” More than that, the 24 actress can’t say. ”To tell the truth, I don’t know because I have not read the script yet! Brett is still working on it.” That would be director Brett Ratner, who fanboys fear will manhandle the precious X-Men franchise by treating it with all the subtlety he brought to bear on the Rush Hour movies. When the film shoots in October, can his high-caliber cast form a force field around the movie to protect it from hackery?

Cecilia Reyes is a somewhat minor charactor in the X-Men canon, so I’m curious to see what they’re going to use her for. Hopefully it’ll be good!
Excited to see Aghdashloo in the film, but her character hardly sounds exciting. With so many other characters missing (gamit for one) why add in a Jean Grey retread???

There were too many characters to focus on in the second movie. Why introduce an avalanche of new characters with this one? The actors are great (most of them anyway) so why not concentrate on them and their characters rather than taking time away from them to introduce so many others? If they want to introduce new characters, do it one new character per movie so we can keep track of them all.
She was one of the best things in 24…

I’m not claiming to know everything about X-Men, but even if I was, a one letter typo hardly means I know nothing.
Isn’t Kitty was the one that travels through walls? A force field sounds a lot like Jean Grey to me. I’m already worried about Ratner over stuffing the film, and with Halle Berry already getting the main spotlight, I’m wondering how much 2 hours can handle. Before we know it, characters like Rogue and Cyclops will only be getting 5 minutes a movie.
DAAANG. First they put in a guy with man boobs for the role of Beast (instead of Steve Bacic), now they put in a middle easterner for the role of a boricua? Oohh, I hope them casting directors know what they are doing.
On the other hand, I can’t wait to see Vinnie Jones and await the returns of Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, and Anna Paquin. How can X3 fail with them on board?
uh… it’s kitty pryde… and I thought they said that that girl from Lost was going to play Kitty, not emily page. Who the heck is emily page? they’re also cutting out some characters, like nightcrawler and stuff. and to EP Sato, what does Shoreh being middle-eastern have to do with anything? Compared to that little drawing, she looks the part.
Um, the little inset drawing next to Aghdashloo is of the character Dr. Rao NOT of Dr. Cecilia Reyes (in other words its the wrong image). Aghdashloo was rumored to play Dr. Rao but she’s not.
In the comic, Dr. Reyes was a young Hispanic MD. Dr. Rao (pictured) would be closer to Shohreh’s age and background (Indian researcher in her age bracket).

X-MEN 3 potential script. Get it here, while it lasts
Like previous films the thrid will need to take elements from all previous media and combine it/modify it to suit the medium of film and general film going public. Hence no aliens in regards to dark phoniex and cosmic battlers rather she is just a super powerful mutant with an inner demon that has totally taken control of her mind. The phoniex is just Jean’s natural progression in her mutation.
Potential script:
Well X-men 3 should revolve around the Dark Phoniex arising in busy city streets and totally going on massive rampage. This only happens after Magneto learns of Jeans transformation and trys to caputure her for his own plans. She is tempoarily caught with the aid of Pyro (when Phoniex is in her fire form).
Something he does corrupts the Phoniex and transforms her to the Dark Phoniex, a being of pure energy and no control.
Magneto and the Brotherhood of mutants including a new costumed Pyro flea what they have started.
So big is the havoc she causes that President orders Martial law. What also happens is that a secret project old Stryker hads his hands in and clause in the law (or something like that) goes into affect.
Something like this: in regards to if Martial law is ever implemented due to mutant attacks then Section 33 overides all Presidential power and control is turned over to General Davis
General Davis tells the Press that this new policing of mutants is due to the the total devistation by the mutant known as the Dark Phoniex he declares this to be a War on Mutants, hence the name Mutant Wars.
(Now i would like to see Juggernaut in here as General Davis personal body guard now i know you X-men fanatics would not like to change his story but we cant add magical elements to this movie so a way to change it would be Juggernaunt is a genetically modified solider, heaps of steriods with the lasted battle armour he also turns out to be Proffesor X’s step brother and this is the whole reason he signed up to work with the anti mutant army)
What that means is section 33 relates to a top secret program of Sentinels and the full force of Mutant imprisonment begins. What happens next is the first wave of Sentinels, basically human soliders in endo skeleton enhancement armour. About a 7ft tall. Imprisonment begins. Mutants fight back.
Around this point will be a showdown, one with Iceman (full body covered in ice when gets into real fight) and Pyro over Rogue.
Iceman wins this fight with the aid of a mysterous card that gets tossed out of nowhere, and Rouge choices neither.
General Davis activates the phase 2: Master mould goes online (hang on this is a bit terminatorish i think but for know i stick with this story idea)
Dark Phoniex strikes again General Davis orders a kill on site law for all Mutants.
A Second wave, this time of Elite Sentinals (full machines 15ft tall) are sent to the X-School. As the xmen ty to fight them off. Another Dark phoniex attack happens. Scott and Logan are ordered to intercept her. While the others fend off the Elite Sentinals.
Magneto tells Prof X he corrupted the Phoniex, Scott and logan try to take Magneto out with little result. Maganeto apologies and once again offers his service to his old Friend.
Upon arrival at the scene of Dark phoniex 3rd strike we see the Sentinal Strike force. (these are the big boys, 30ft) Hundreds of them. Dark phoniexs is power is exhausted after her latest attack on the city and she has trouble as she trys to fight them off. She collaspes and transforms back to Jean Grey.
Logan tells Scott to get her out of here. Scott grabs her and runs for cover into a near by building. Logan in pure wolverine style locks Jean in a room and then heads back for Sentinals with Cyclops. This is were we truly learn what a psyhco and brilliant warrior Wolverine is and the full power of Cyclops.
(i’ll skip some details here and make my long story short, but we will see a few new characters introduced, Archangel etc…this will be a set up for part 4)
Professor X contacts president and tells him that dark phoniex has been taken care of. But he has know power to stop the Sentinels. He informs Prof X that he lost all contact with General Davis and his staff an hour ago, the only communication is from Master Mould who has declared that it is illogical to kill mutants and protect humans as they are all the same and so all must die. They are now operating fully automated. All are in danger, mutants and humans.
X-men go to war. And head to Master mould…..Mageneto and Prof x side by side along with xmen battle it out with master mould and the sentinals. Magneto will sacrafice his life this time to save Charles. Magneto dies in this battle, or does he?
Iceman and Pyro fight it out again. Pyro wins this time.

The story ends with harmony restored and mutants allowed to live freely as declared by President. It then cuts to an anicent temple. a Shadowy figure is watching the tv broad cast saying “man has survived its darkest hour in the recent Mutant wars”
The shadow figure starts to laugh and says” The darkest hour has yet to come but it will soon for nothing can stop the Apocolypse”. fade to black with a big scary deep laugh.
I am a huge X-Men fan, I own X-Men comics 1 through 60. and I even have comics from before X-Men series was revived after the Shadow King saga. The first two X-Men movies did not do justice to the comic book version of X-Men. X-Men is not about Wolverine, but is rather about the X-Men as a team. Cyclops is the leader of the team. He was Professor X’s first student, and he has always been the undisputed leader. The movies have portrayed him horribly by being undermined by Wolverine in X-Men, and by being kidnapped in X-Men 2. Wolverine and Cyclops have always had disagreements but no one dominated the other. Wolverine is supposed to be the loner, and not the focus of the comic. In X-Men 3 I hope to see the balance of importance and the utilization of the characters staying true to the comic books and even the cartoon which did a great job reflecting the comics. X-Men 3 needs to step it up as it is the worst of the released Marvel movies while it has the most potential. Lets see the director use their powers for important things, in combat, and not for example Cyclops blowing up a damn. Show him blast a villain through a building.
Well for starters I am kind of worried about what Mr. Brett (director) might do with this movie, he loves explosions (alot of what I seen in the trailer) and he is not really good with story lines (Rush Hour, a good movie but…) unlike Brian Singer (if you guys really keep up with directors), and remember all the cast of X-Men 1 and 2 are gone working on the Superman Film except the actors,and “Nightcrawler” doesn’t want to work with Brett, and COME ON! I know you have all seen Juggernaut’s costume (disgusting!) I am sure Brett has heard about this but he is supposed to be huge and unstoppable and from what I have seen he looks like he can be run over by a Tonka truck, I really hope this is his form before he found that jewel or the previous Juggernaut or something cuz it sucks. Either way instead of worrying about how one character is going to fit into the movie you should all be worrying about how all characters are going to be portrayed into the storyline, look Brett Ratner up because from the video clips I’ve seen he is just really arrogant, “He is the go to guy” I just hope he doesn’t ruin a already different movie from the Comics and cartoons any further because it took me quite some time to get used to a skinny Magneto.
Cyclops is going to die before the first half of the movie… >:) Phoenix will accidently kill him when she emerges from Alkali Lake. Go Phoenix! ^.-
