What's weirder? (Hip-Hop Edition)

151557__kw_lWhat’s weirder?

A. Kanye West (left) denouncing the pejorative use of the term ”gay” in rap music

B. Snoop Dog involved in Pee-Wee football flap

C. Diddy abstaining from sex before hosting the VMAs

I’ve got to go with B. Really, Kanye deserves only praise for speaking out against all-too-common homophobia in the hip-hop game, while Diddy, bless his heart, will say just about anything to garner publicity for himself. Deciphering the politics of California’s kiddie football scene — and how Snoop fits into ‘em — well, that just makes my head hurt.

Props to Kanye for taking a stand on such a controversial issue. Ice T did some work with a gay music group about a decade ago, but the outreach never went much further than that.
Snoop’s new league sounds exciting, but at the cost of local youth football leagues? There has to be some sort of third way.
And I am not even going to touch the article about Sean “Has Been” Combs (please see other commentary to understand this one)

What about P. Diddy changing his name (yet again)? Now he’s just “Diddy”. Seriously, Diddy, give it up already.

Yo, Kanye better shut up if he knows what’s good for him. Ain’t no gay fags in hip-hop and there never will be.

Pulease!!! There are probably more “gay fags” (both male and female) in hip-hop than you could ever imagine. Kanye deserves props for speaking up and leading the way.
As for Snoop – I am trying to see his side in all of this but it just seems shady. If the league where he lives isn’t good enough for his kids then he should take them to play elsewhere. He is coming across like one of those “football parents” that are completely obsessed with their kids only playing on teams where the motto is “win at ANY cost”. Ultimately it’s the kids that aren’t good enough to make it in Snoops new league that are going to suffer and not get the opportunity to learn about sportsmanship, team work, dedication and responsibility – and REALLY, isn’t this about the kids? If you need that sort of validation Snoop maybe you should stop living out your childhood dreams through your kids and try out for the NFL on your own.
And PDiddlywinks or whatever – give it up man. Nobody cares what you call yourself. You can change your name a thousand times and it isn’t going to make you anymore interesting or talented or famous. I think what would be more impressive is if you would just relax, get comfortable in your own skin and stop seeming so desperate for attention that you have to change your name every 5 months – just a thought.

Wow, so Kanye wants to stand up for gay rights…..what about the degradation of women throughout hip hop? Is that A-OK?

Kanye West-Props to Kanye for being different and standing up for something that is wrong in the hip hop industry. He’s the only hip hop artist that is trying to be different. And I respect the fact that he’s doing that.
Snoop- The league sounds very interesting. To be honest i really don’t care it’s only local.
Diddy- I REALLY don’t care about him. He needs to take a break. He’s always trying to get attention!! I’m tried of seeing for something stupid!! The only good thing he did was the voting in 2004.
