An advantage to being an imaginary band: touring costs are low. Damon Albarn’s cartoon combo, Gorillaz, are planning a 12-nation tour via cyberspace that will take only one day, Aug. 24. The Demon Days quartet will be paying virtual visits to various international sites run by Habbo Hotel, an online community for teens, whose guests are accustomed to representing themselves with animated avatars. The American stop is next Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Let’s just hope the virtual musicians don’t throw any virtual TVs out the window or otherwise trash their virtual hotel suites.

Thank god for the Gorillaz. I thought Del the Funkee Homosapien would never find himself a place to call home, then the first Gorillaz album came out.
The virtual tour sounds very cool, though it will be a little wierd to go to a show without that “people funk” smell.
I’ve been using Habbo for 4 years now and I think it’s really cool that the Gorillaz are visiting.
Maybe this could be the first step into a revoloution?
Maybe we could have lots of virtual tours!
I have been playing Habbo for a while now and it’s a wonderful place. It’s full of fun and entertaiment.
This is really awsome that Gorillaz is coming on it. This will bring a lot of popularity to Habbo Hotel and make this other day on Habbo Hotel really exciting.
I have been on Habbo for 2 1/2 years now, and it’s great when we can meet people from other virtual worlds. Gorillaz music is really cool. My favorite song is Feel Good. They will fit right in. I can’t wait!
