Kudos to CBS for hiring Ellen DeGeneres again to host the Emmys. She did such a stellar job four years ago, rescuing the awards show after 9/11, and she’s certainly on top of her game now. She’s got her work cut out for her lifting the show out of the ratings slump it’s been in for the last couple of years, but she sounds ready for the job. ”You know me,” she said in a statement, ”any excuse to put on a dress.” I just hope she doesn’t have to recuse herself as host if her girlfriend’s show, Arrested Development, wins big.

Ellen DeGeneres rocks! She did a great job in 2001, and I can’t wait to see her do it again.

I heart Ellen so much. Worth switching sides for, IMHO. And BTW, if you’ve never seen the opening of the VH1 Divas Live concert that she hosted a few years ago, where she sang and danced to “Whatta Man,” you haven’t lived. It was one of the most impressive song-and-dance displays I think I’ve ever seen on television. I’ve got tix to see her show the week I’ll be in LA, and I’m a smidge excited. And no, Ellen’s lawyers, I am not a stalker.
