Poor Bo Bice. You’d think one of his Lynyrd Skynyrd buddies would’ve warned him about swapping out his cowboy boots for tennis shoes (and singing lyrics like ”take me to the place you cry from”), but alas, the kid had to learn the hard way about the easily offended gods of rock.
The American Idol runner-up incurred their wrath during the first song of his solo set at an Idol concert stop in Manchester, N.H., on Sunday, landing badly and breaking his foot. ”There’s a part where I go running across the stage and do these jump-ups and flip around in circles, and normally I wear cowboy boots, but about three or four shows ago, they started sliding on me,” Bice told MTV.com. ”I was worried I was gonna trip and fall and hurt myself, so I changed to tennis shoes and they got a lot better grip, too good of a grip.”

No to worry, though, Bice not only finished his set, but also stuck around to fulfill his duet duties with Carrie Underwood before rushing off to the hospital. A new air cast will prevent Bice from missing any future concert stops. Now that totally rocks, dude.
