Wonder Years alumna/sometime West Wing actress/theoretical mathematician/Stuff magazine lingerie model Danica McKellar is profiled in a cute article in the Science section of today’s New York Times. Turns out the former Winnie Cooper is enough of a brainiac that she got her name on a theorem published in a math journal while she was but a lowly undergraduate. She’s forsworn grad school to return to acting, but she remains a math geek; she’ll even help lovelorn fans befuddled students with algebra puzzlers if they submit questions to her website. If I had had a math tutor who looked like this, would I remember any of my high school calculus? Actually, I’d probably remember even less.
