Scary Spice, say you'll be there

Categories: Live 8

Spice_l_1I’ll tell ya what I want, what I really, really want. I want to see me a Spice Girls reunion at the Live 8 benefit concert next month in London. Unfortunately, Scary Spice (at right) is having ”difficulty going back to something she did in the past,” Live 8 organizer Bob Geldof told a British TV show this week, and if she opts out, then none of the other Spices will go on without her. (After all, how could Posh deliver that ”zig-a-zig HA” with so much panache?)

Now, I’ve been through shock, denial, and anger this morning — all before finishing my first Diet Coke — but after reflecting on the lyrics to ”Wannabe,” I’m stumbling toward acceptance. The writing’s been on the wall the whole time. I just didn’t want to see it:

If you want my future, forget my past,
If you wanna get with me, better make it fast,
Now don’t go wasting my precious time,
Get your act together we could be just fine

Okay, Scary, I get it. We’ll all forget ”2 Become 1.” But how can the old crew ”get their acts together” in time for Live 8? Are the clues hidden somewhere in the Spice Girls’ lyric book? C’mon people, we’ve got less than two weeks to solve the mystery!

seriously I need to see them and Scary is my favorite…
I think she needs to “stop right now” and “spice up” my life and show up at Live 8

    Ugh….shudder…..whats next, a Macarena comeback?

I thought you were suppose to “never give up on the good times” and be together “forever”. Come on Scary Spice, “who do you think you are”? Your new single didn’t even make the Top 40 in the UK. You need the publicity. If the rest of the girls are willing to “do it”, why aren’t you? “Tell me why”? Please “say you’ll be there” so we stop this ridiculous game.

oooh, i used to love the spice girls! a reunion would cool! i mean hey, the backstreet boys are back together–anything can happen!

First the Backstreet Boyz come back, now this? Didn’t it usally take a decade for the post-rehab comeback? Why is everyone so broke and willing to give it another go so soon after they were in the limelight? Don’t we want to wait a few more years before we say “where are they now”?
What I want is a Menudo/New Kids on the Block reunion to see how LOW the formerly famous have gone…
    Besides, Hollywood needs another Walberg.
